IPL 2010 Auction Results

The 2010 Player Auction for Indian Premier League was held on the 19th January 2010. It was held in India. 97 players from cricket playing countries other than India had registered for the auction. However 66 players were selected for the final auction.
The auction list featured players from Australia (11), South Africa (9), Sri Lanka (8), West Indies (8), Pakistan (7), New Zealand (4) and one each from Bangladesh, Canada, Holland and Zimbabwe.
However in the final auction, only 14 players were sold which included players like Kieron Pollard, who was sold to Mumbai Indians for a whopping INR 12.6 crores after the tie breaker.
As no Pakistani player was selected, a lot of controversy was generated in the media. The teams stated that as the players would not be fully available for the 3rd IPL edition, they weren't interested to buy them.
